In 2018, work on the improvement of pedestrian zones took place on Nazarbayev Avenue, Abay Avenue, Abylai Khan Avenue, in the square in front of the Palace of the Republic, on Zhetoksan Street, and Gogol Street. A total of 578 million tenge was allocated for the street reconstruction project in 2018.

Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in Almaty on a working trip. The head of state inspected Abay and Nursultan Nazarbayev avenues, where pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure had been reconstructed and improved. The Mayor of the city, Bauyrzhan Baybek, informed President Nazarbayev about the newly introduced pilot method of architectural and urban planning regulation – the urban environment design code. This method entails detailed rules and recommendations in one document for shaping a unified style for the metropolis.

As part of the extensive street improvement project in the city of Almaty, PK “ArchiMet-Apex” manufactured:

  • Conical supports with LED lanterns – 82 pieces
  • Budget supports with LED lanterns – 78 pieces
  • Lighting systems – 645 pieces
  • Cast iron lanterns with LED lights – 114 pieces
  • Historical lantern – 41 pieces
  • Clocks on supports – 6 pieces.
